Our Mission
Greater Deliverance Church seeks to be a Biblical ministry designed to encourage life transformation through our threefold purpose: to Evangelize, Edify and Equip the whole person to serve the community and reach the world for Jesus Christ. We are to encourage the people of God to become strong in faith and in works according to the Word of God.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to build up the kingdom of God by winning lost souls. It is also our dream to reach the youth. This will be the place where families can rediscover their purpose and begin to live the abundant life that Jesus spoke of.

Sunday School Lesson: Joy in Suffering (Philippians 1:12–14, 18, 21; 4:11–13)
Lesson Theme:
Paul’s imprisonment shows us that our circumstances do not determine our joy—Christ does.
1. Paul’s Imprisonment Advances the Gospel (Philippians 1:12–14)
Paul reassures the Philippians that his incarceration is not a defeat but a victory for the Gospel.
-
Encouraging other believers: Paul’s faith gave others boldness to share the Word.
-
Witnessing to his captors: Even the palace guards heard the Gospel because of Paul’s chains.
Life Application:
When you face difficulties—at work, in school, or at home—ask God how you can use your situation as a witness instead of only asking Him to remove the hardship.
2. Christ is Proclaimed, No Matter the Motives (Philippians 1:18)
-
Problem: Some preached Christ to make Paul’s suffering worse.
-
Paul’s Response: He focused on the Gospel being preached, not his personal feelings.
Life Application:
Don’t let jealousy, criticism, or people’s motives steal your joy. If Christ is honored and people are helped, that’s reason to rejoice.
3. A Win-Win Perspective on Life and Death (Philippians 1:21–23)
-
To live is Christ: Life is for serving and glorifying Christ.
-
To die is gain: Death brings believers into the presence of Christ.
Life Application:
Live each day with eternity in mind. Whether you succeed or struggle, your life has purpose because it belongs to Christ. And when life ends, you gain the ultimate reward—being with Him.
4. Contentment in All Circumstances (Philippians 4:11–13)
-
The secret to contentment: Paul learned to be satisfied in both need and abundance.
-
The source of strength: Christ empowered him to endure.
Life Application:
Instead of saying, “I’ll be happy when…,” learn to lean on Christ for joy today. Pray for strength to be content whether you have much or little.
Closing Thought:
Paul’s joy wasn’t tied to comfort or freedom—it was rooted in Christ. We can choose the same perspective today.
Memory Verse: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
